In Chinese history, few families have left such a profound imprint in literature and folklore as the Zhu Ge Liang family. The three outstanding representatives of the Zhu Ge family - Zhu Ge Liang, Zhu Ge Jin, and Zhu Ge Dan - served separately in the three kingdoms of Wei, Shu, and Wu, with vastly different endings, collectively weaving an intriguing chapter of history.

Zhu Ge Liang, styled Kongming, is the most well-known among the three brothers. Loyal to the Shu Han dynasty, he served Liu Bei and later Liu Shan as the chancellor, serving as a crucial pillar of the Shu Han regime. With his exceptional wisdom and profound strategic vision, Zhu Ge Liang made tremendous contributions to the stability and development of Shu Han. Although his northern expeditions ultimately failed to achieve the goal of unifying China, his loyalty and cunning are still praised by later generations. He died of illness at Wuzhang Plain in 234, leaving behind the timeless regret of "The general has not yet achieved victory, but he has died first, making heroes weep."

Zhu Ge Jin, styled Ziyu, was Zhu Ge Liang's elder brother. He served in the Eastern Wu dynasty, rising to the rank of Grand Tutor and serving as an important advisor to Sun Quan. Unlike his younger brother's military exploits, Zhu Ge Jin made more achievements in diplomacy and internal affairs. He made several diplomatic missions to Shu Han to discuss alliance matters with his brother Zhu Ge Liang. Zhu Ge Jin's political career in the Eastern Wu was relatively stable, and he died of illness in his later years, enjoying high reputation.
