Li Bai, a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty in China, was born in Suiye City, the farthest frontier town guarded by the Tang Dynasty in the Western Regions. According to later historians, Li Bai's father was likely to be a descendant of Li Yuan, the Emperor Taizong of Tang. Li Bai's father was named Li Ke. Li Bai's mother was a Turk named Yuewa. According to legend, Li Bai had a younger sister named Li Yueyuan, who returned to Changlong, Sichuan with her father and brother when she was three years old. It is said that Li Yueyuan was not only beautiful, but also a talented woman. Legend has it that when Li Yueyuan was young, she married someone else to fulfill her filial piety for her brother Li Bai, but she did not leave the house. So Li Bai built a Fenzhulou for his sister as a embroidery tower. Yueyuan often lived there with her girlfriend Zhang Xue'e, entertaining herself with music, chess, painting and calligraphy. Every morning and evening, she poured the powder and water from her face onto the bamboo forest under the tower. Over time, the bamboo was covered with a layer of white powder, becoming powder bamboo. Therefore, later generations called this tower Fenzhulou. It is said that Jiangyou still preserves Yueyuan's former residence today.

When Li Bai's father took the whole family and Li Bai back to Changlong, Sichuan, Li Bai was only five years old. Li Bai was clever and liked reading when he was young. He was good at making poems and had a wide range of hobbies, including hunting, martial arts, dancing and playing the piano. After leaving Sichuan at the age of 25, Li Bai never returned to his hometown until his death. It is said that he was ashamed to come back to see his sister because he took Li Yueyuan's fiancé as a companion when he left Qinglian.
